Airmed was established in order to supply a full solution package for medical evacuation by air, in Israel and abroad.

Crew

An extensive support team of doctors from many of the medical professions such as: intensive care, anesthesia, internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, pediatric medicine and gynecology, are on stand-by to assist the company.

The medical crew is attuned to the individual requirements of the patient and combines with paramedics and nurses.

Most of Airmed's doctors serve in the S.A.R. unit of the Israeli Air Force and have a wealth of experience. The company is headed by Dr. Eytan Ish-Tov, a former commander of the medical flight of the of the Israeli Air Force S.A.R. unit. Dr. Ish-Tov is a specialist surgeon and intensive care physician as well, with experience spanning around 1000 airborne missions.

Airmed's paramedics and nurses are professionally trained for airborne missions and also work in their professions either in hospitals or for the EMS in Israel

The crew is fully insured against professional risks.

Equipment

Airmed owns up-to-date medical equipment for airborne missions which enables proper monitoring of the patient and treatment is performed according to airborne medical intensive care unit standards, for sick or injured patients as well as pediatric patients and neonates.

Special emphasis is placed on using long-life internal batteries, and we can also utilize the 220V AC power supplies supplied in the aircrafts that we fly in.

The System

A 24/7 call center is available for customers’ service.

Each call is immediately transferred to the medical officer on duty.

The doctor in charge immediately records or researches all the medical details relating to the patient and decides what will be the best way to carry out the medevac (helicopter, air ambulance, or commercial flight).

As soon as the decision has been made regarding the condition of the patient and the optimal air evacuation method, the company coordinates evacuation arrangements in the appropriate areas: coordination of a suitable medical evacuation team, airplane, special equipment requirements, ambulances, coordination with hotels and hospitals, ordering of flight tickets, booking of hotel accommodations etc.

Personal contact is maintained with the patient and his family and the person who has requested the medevac in order to ensure a trouble-free air passage.
